Our tailored and free services on digitalisation, artificial intelligence (AI) and IT security are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mid-caps, start-ups and public institutions in Saarland and the Greater Region (Saar-Lor-Lux).

Consortium partners

The August Wilhelm Scheer Institute for Digital Products and Processes represents application-oriented research transfer at international level. The focus on content research around the companies of the future, the Super Smart Enterprise. As a stand-alone research institute, the Digitalisation Institute is working to develop innovative technologies and anticipate business models, with a strong emphasis on the close link between research, innovation and practice. For more than seven years, the Institute has been accompanying medium-sized enterprises in a holistic manner in their digital transformation. In the project, the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institut focuses on the thematic areas of AI in the office, digital business models, low code application development, digital process optimisation, administrative transformation and knowledge-intensive digitalisation of services. 

The German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) is active in innovative software technologies based on methods of Artificial intelligence is Germany’s leading business-oriented research institution. To place reliable and trustworthy AI from Germany and Europe at the forefront of international competition, the DFKI initiates, realises and supports many activities. 

For example, the DFKI provides excellent scientific performance in all areas of AI – such as synthetic data for environmental protection, AI processes for a resilient and resilient manufacturing industry, quantum computing, dynamic supply chains and secure data spaces, robotics, language technologies, smart farming, etc. In basic research, the research centre works closely with universities in the DFKI sites. 

We are convinced that AI technologies help to successfully address whole-of-society challenges such as man-made climate change, social injustices and the fight against dangerous diseases, and we are working on these challenges with great energy.  

Strong partnerships are more important than ever to address technological challenges together, quickly and with success. 

East Side Fab provides space and network for innovation and is a focal point for business and science from the region. As an accelerator of innovation, the East Side Fab supports all companies in making ideas sustainable.   

Based on business for business, the focus is on implementing cross-industry innovation projects and creating new products and solutions in the field of future technologies.  

Here, industry, small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups learn to grow even more together, to master change together and thus to set the course for the future. 

saaris is a regional economic developmentsaGentur, institutionally by the regional government of Saarland, financed in particular by the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Economy. Overarching Objective of the serviceEN of saaris is strengthening and improving dcompetitiveness and innovation capacity of the regional economy and thus its long-term stabilityT. In the case of: saaris SIND Networks based on regional focus sectors automotive ICT, Prconcentrate oduction technology and health. One of the main tasks is to stimulate: Technology transfer and Cooperation between undertakings and research, or between undertakings; support for digital transformation and upskilling. This includes supporting and advising companies on access to financial instruments.. In addition, vadd saaris about experience in the field of digital Verantwort, Change Management and Innovation culture. 

The Centre for Mechatronics and Automation Technology understands itself as a development partner for the industrialisation and technology transfer of research and development results.  

In our development activities, we work closely with institutes and chairs of the University of Saarland (UDS) and the University of Technology and Economics (HTW saar). Professors in the relevant fields, in particular mechatronics, care for highly qualified scientific staff working at the Research Centre. This ensures that scientific potential, specific know-how and state-of-the-art research results are used in a synergetic and sustainable way in the work of the ZEMA.
